Limited edition of Barbeito Reserva 5 years Malvasia arrives at Garrafeira Benfica
03/01/2023The SLB 48 Madeira, Reserve 5 years old Malvasia, signed by the Madeiran producer Vinhos Barbeito, can be purchased from today and promises to delight fans of Sport Lisboa e Benfica and enthusiasts of high quality wines. With only 1000 units available, the SLB 48 Madeira arrives on the market as a result of a partnership between Garrafeira Benfica, which began three years ago, with the Portuguese football club and Super Grapes. Each bottle has a retail price of €30.99. In addition to this long-awaited SLB 48 Madeira, Garrafeira Benfica is preparing to present three new editions of non-alcoholic wines, a liqueur from Alentejo and two editions from Hungary. «These launches reflect Garrafeira Benfica’s ongoing commitment to providing a diverse and high-quality wine experience, reinforcing and continuing an unprecedented project born in a football club», says Miguel Bento, Benfica’s commercial and marketing director.
SLB Madeira has a golden color, with notes of toasted almonds, honey and smoked wood enhancing the refinement and freshness of this wine, capable of preserving its aromas for several months, even after opening the bottle. The grapes that gave rise to this wine come from excellent vineyards in Arco de São Jorge, on the north coast of the island of Madeira. The entire production process was meticulously thought out, in order to ensure a quality result, capable of pleasing the palate of the most demanding oenophiles. A wine that, in addition to having experienced the interruption of fermentation through the addition of wine alcohol (96%), also aged on site, in French oak casks, for a period of five years.
SLB 48 Madeira should be served at a temperature of 14/15ºC and is ideal for serving as a digestif. It also goes well with cheeses and desserts, such as caramel pudding, passion fruit and candied fruit.
